White County

Fishing in White County, Arkansas

Beautiful White County Courthouse.

The second largest county in the state was created in 1835 from 1,027 miles of lands from Independence, Pulaski, and Jackson Counties. Located in the foothills of the Ozark, the county’s supply of farmland and proximity to the Little Red River and White River allowed agriculture to flourish.  Mineral springs located in Searcy soon brought the health conscious to the area and White County became known for progressive health care. Searcy is the county seat and the largest city in its borders. Today, White County encompasses 15 additional incorporated cities including Beebe, Bald Knob, Bradford, Letona and McRae.
