Sherwood is a growing, prosperous community conveniently located next to Highway 67/167, less than 10 minutes from downtown Little Rock, the Little Rock Air Force Base, and the Little Rock Regional Airport offering businesses easy transportation access without the heavy traffic of a larger city.
Residentsof Sherwood enjoy a high standard of living with the third highest educational levels and second highest family income per capita in the State. Sherwood is a safe, family-oriented community with 10 City parks, two recreational facilities, an active Senior Citizens Center, and year-round programs for youth of all ages. The City provides a number of outreach programs through our Police Department including community policing, School Resource Officers in all our public schools, and youth programs such as C.O.P.S. Kids and Explorers. The City of Sherwood has the lowest level of crime for any community in the Central Arkansas Region.
Voted three consecutive times by the State Department of Volunteerism as the Volunteer Community of the Year, Sherwood is proud of its many community volunteers.
Today we are experiencing a period of extraordinary growth with over 880 acres currently under construction for new homes. This year we have welcomed numerous new businesses to the city, including Academy Sports, Cardinal Health, FTD.com, Gander Mountain Outdoors, and Mardel's.
