Morrilton community leaders didn't give up when they faced losing a large part of their industrial base just a few years ago. Instead, they created the "Morrilton Miracle", forming partnerships between businesses, local government and public and nonprofit organizations that ensured their community continued to thrive.

Together they've funded industrial park development and redevelopment of the historic downtown area in excess of $3 million in the past few years. Along the way, they've recruited industry crucial to their economic viability.

Jack Egan, Vice President for Financial Marketing Services of ICT Group, said, "It was quickly obvious that Morrilton would be a good place to locate. The work ethic is tremendous. The people here have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. What we found here is something we don't find very often."

At the ground-breaking ceremony of his company's second facility in Conway County, William E. Thurman, President and CEO of SEMCO Incorporated, said, "We attribute the success of our first facility to the skills and work ethic found in our employees, and we expect to see continued growth from both facilities. We look forward to being a long term, corporate partner in the community and the state." At a recent expansion ribbon cutting, Thurman said, "I can tell you firsthand that vision, leadership, commitment and teamwork exist in Morrilton, Arkansas."

The people of Morrilton place an exceptionally high value on their established industries. They work to continually improve the business climate for these valued corporate citizens through the development of new initiatives and by sustaining existing programs specifically tailored to the industries' needs such as financing and workforce training. In the past two years, Morrilton has been awarded $1.2 million in grants for infrastructure projects to their North and South Industrial Parks.

Morrilton is a faith-based community with good public and private schools and a small town atmosphere just 50 minutes away from the capital city of Little Rock. Camping, hiking, fishing and breathtaking scenery also abound on the mountain. Some other attractions are the Museum of Autos, Winrock Conference Center, Camp Mitchell and Tanyard Springs Resort. The Arkansas River, Lake Overcup and Lake Brewer are great for fishing and boating. Other favorites are the Rialto Community Arts Center, Depot Museum and the Ozark Conference Center.
