"Your Dream Hometown"
Incorporated in 1875, the Central Arkansas community of Beebe was named for Roswell Beebe, a member of a prominent railroad family and an executive with the Cairo and Fulton Railroad.
Beebe is located in White County, just 32 miles northeast of Arkansas' capital city of Little Rock. The county seat city of Searcy is 17 miles northeast of Beebe. And, Conway is only 30 miles to our west. Beebe is situated on a fast-growing transportation corridor, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67/167 and U.S. Highway 64.
While Beebe's official population stands at 5,300, there are some 8,900 folks who live in handsome residential developments in and around Beebe.
Beebe has a superb school system of almost 3,000 students, with all Beebe facilities on one large, attractive, secure campus.
Arkansas State University at Beebe is our largest employer. Last year it conferred more degrees than any other two-year college in Arkansas. It offers the Associate of Arts, the Associate of Applied Science and the Associate of Science degrees. Technical certificate programs and a number of on-line courses, as well as the Associate of Arts online, are offered. On the Beebe campus, ASU-Jonesboro offers bachelor's degrees in eight areas of study and master's degrees in three areas. As Chancellor Eugene McKay likes to say, you can get anything from a GED to an MBA at ASU-Beebe.
Beebe is a haven for growing families who enjoy small time life and values. We invite you to call Beebe "Your Dream Hometown."
