This city of approximately 4,500 people is known for its charm and its small town life with big-city conveniences. It is located approximately twenty-two miles east of the state's capital city. Lonoke County is among the three fastest growing counties in Arkansas.
Lonoke has one of the largest park systems of any small town and true prairie land beauty. The city is also home to one of the nation's largest fish hatcheries and one of that state's largest wildlife management areas.

The Historic Courthouse at Lonoke was constructed in 1928. It is a massive red brick structure that contains the county's business offices.
Each year, citizens come together to celebrate Courthouse Day in mid-May. The event is held on Courthouse Square and features arts, crafts, food, children's events, a 5K walk/run and a giant flea market.
The city maintains three public parks and a new community center complete with pool, fitness center, basketball, tennis, aerobics, yoga and many other programs.
