The city's arts community is vital and growing as evidenced by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Ballet Arkansas and the Arkansas Arts Center, with its internationally acclaimed drawings collection.
Little Rock's premiere community festival held each Memorial Day weekend is Riverfest, a three-day fun fest with 100 live acts by nationally known musicians and quality arts and crafts offerings along the banks of the Arkansas River in downtown Little Rock. Equally impressive is the Wildwood Festival, a month-long celebration held each June that includes performances by the Arkansas Opera Theatre. Just a 20-minute drive from downtown in the rolling hills of west Little Rock, Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts offers a beautiful wooded setting marrying art and nature with the nation's most comprehensive collection of native azaleas.
One thing you won't be in Little Rock is hungry. From the famous steaks at downtown dive Doe's Good Eats and mouthwatering Sims Barbeque to intercontinental flavors in the River Market District and Brave New Restaurant on the Arkansas River, Little Rock has a local restaurant for every taste.
