“A city where thousands live as millions wish they could” was proudly chosen as the slogan for the city a few years ago. From the towns very beginning in the early 1800’s, it has been known for its beauty and the quality of life it offers its citizens. A city of just under 20,000 people with one of the fastest growing populations in the state, Searcy is the county seat for White County. The local government, Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Development Corporation work together to encourage growth in this community, that features a strategic location, a qualified and committed workforce and a thriving and diverse local economy.

The city is a major manufacturing, distribution, education and healthcare hub for North Central Arkansas, located a quick 45-minute drive from the Little Rock National Airport. Searcy's Municipal Airport is among the fastest growing in the state and the Doniphan Kensett Searcy Railroad provides short line rail service. White County Medical Center provides services from open-heart surgery and advanced neurosurgical capabilities to home-like obstetrical care. Harding University, a private Christian liberal arts school has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the nation's best and has enjoyed mutually rewarding and growing relationship with Searcy for more than 75 years. In addition, nationally recognized public and private schools provide educational support to business and industry in Searcy.

Quality of life in Searcy means a clean, safe community with amenities that people want most in their hometown. The community has two golf courses, a 133-acre sports complex, along with easy access to Greers Ferry Lake, with a bounty of water sports and recreation, and the Little Red River, famous for world-class trout fishing. Four city parks provide picnic areas, lighted tennis courts, playgrounds and a public swimming pool. Most neighborhoods in Searcy are dotted with places of worship that reflect the enduring spiritual values of this city.
