Executive Director of the North Little Rock Economic Development Corporation, Todd Larson, says many characteristics combine to make North Little Rock a business friendly community. "Business license fees are low and the city government is cooperative. We have competitive land costs, low property insurance rates, and great access to major interstates," Larson said.

North Little Rock is a certified Arkansas Community of Excellence, an honor granted by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. The certification recognizes a community's preparedness for business expansions and relocations. Communities certified must implement a three-year strategic plan to expand the local economy and enhance the quality of life for residents.

In addition to being a good place to do business, North Little Rock is also a good place to live. The city has distinct neighborhoods, unmatched public recreational opportunities, as well as effective and cost efficient city services. North Little Rock is a great place to go shopping, too. In fact, it is considered the "Shopping Center" of Arkansas.

Arkansas residents look to the city's multi-purpose state-of-the-art facility - Verizon Arena - for concerts, basketball, arena football, the circus, and many other feature attractions and performances. North Little Rock is across the Arkansas River from the state's capital, Little Rock, and is therefore a part of several dynamic projects taking place along the banks of the river. With the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library, both Little Rock and North Little Rock have become premier destinations.

North Little Rock is home to the second largest city park in the United States - Burns Park. The park has indoor tennis facilities and a 36-hole golf course, and one of the south's larger soccer complexes. It is also home to the Old Mill, an attraction featured in the classic movie "Gone With The Wind."
